The Icelandic Institute for Intelligent Machines seeks a candidate to fill a 12-month Postdoctoral Research Scientist position and Principal Investigator working on applied machine learning and advanced information systems prototyping. Responsibilities of the successful candidate include research on our ongoing industry collaboration projects, including work with Össur hf (www.ossur.is), the National Commissioner of the Police in Iceland, and numerous high-tech startups.
The successful applicant will have completed a Ph.D. degree in computer science or related fields and will be able to demonstrate an excellent track record of independent research and strong publications. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience in range of software systems, software architectures, and application areas, as well as excellent programming skills. Previous experience with artificial intelligence and machine learning is a prerequisite.
The Postdoctoral Researcher will work with Dr. Krisitnn R. Thórisson and will be an integral member of IIIM’s team. The position includes collaborations with colleagues at Reykjavik University’s AI lab (CADIA), conducting research in various fields of artificial intelligence.
The position is open immediately and the appointment will be for 12-months, with a possible extension depending on acquired research grants during the period. Applications will be accepted until this position is filled.
