As we announced a few weeks ago, IIIM is reviving the AI Festival, together with Reykjavik University’s CADIA. The schedule is now up on the website so that visitors can attend presentations in subfields relative to their interests. Revival of the ArtificaI Intelligence Festival
IIIM, in collaboration with CADIA and Reykjavik University’s School of Computer Science, have decided to restart the AI Festival that was last held in 2008. This event is part of RU’s 50 year anniversary celebration of Tækniskólinn and will be held at Reykjavík University on October 31st.

Dr. Kristinn R. Thórisson closed IIIM Open Day 2013 with a talk on Spatio-Semantic Knowledge for Intelligent Household Robots. He discussed how these robots will perceive and understand their environment, and could change the face of robotics.

Simulated Self-Directed Growth of Human Tissue – IIIM Open Day Presentation
In this presentation Guðrún Fema Ólafsdóttir, research assistant at IIIM, is introducing her project on simulated self-directed growth of human tissue. She aspires to create a new method for creating simulations of complex processes in the absence of a full mathematical model. Results of this project could benefit not only scientific but also medical understanding of biological processes.
